Basic Broadcasting
Help KSER serve our community.
Learn the art of broadcasting!
You can make a difference in your community by becoming a volunteer program producer at KSER.
Have you ever wanted to play music you wish everyone knew about?
Or maybe you want to interview someone you think the world needs to hear?
Learn the art of broadcasting AND become eligible to join our volunteer staff of reporters and DJs. 90.7. We offer a community education course each quarter, called Basic Broadcasting. There are no college credits associated with the class.
Basic Broadcasting teaches you the core skills of becoming a community radio reporter and/or DJ. To see what you'll learn, check out the course material here.
Our next Basic Broadcasting classes start Wednesday, January 7th and runs for 6 weeks (through Feb. 11th).
There are two sessions: 4:00pm - 6:00pm or 6:30pm - 8:30pm.
You can sign-up for either but we ask that you stick to whichever session you start in.
The class meets once a week for 6 weeks.
The course also requires 2 additional hours in lab time each week for practice sessions with our equipment. You can fulfill that lab time anytime, day or night, between 6:00AM and 10:00PM.
The fee, payable on the first day of class, is $50 ($25 for youth, seniors, or low-income participants) and covers all course materials.
